What is acrylic tape?
So what is acrylic tape and when should it be used? It’s a type of tape that is more expensive than regular tapes but has a much wider temperature range. It is made with two layers:
- A layer of BOPP film
- A layer of emulsion acrylic adhesive.
Thanks to its chemistry, the tape remains stable through extreme temperature, and strong resistance to oxidation allows it to be uninfluenced by sunlight exposure. Acrylic tape can be applied easily by hand and sticks well to corrugated surfaces. Acrylic tape is useful in a variety of circumstances. It can be used for light, mid-weight, or heavy cartons. It is also available in a variety of colors.
When is acrylic tape useful?
Because of its temperature resistance, acrylic tapes are an excellent choice for packaging that will involve more extreme temperatures (including refrigeration). Because of this, as well as its resistance to oxidation, acrylic tape is ideal for sealing cartons that might sit in a warehouse or storage area for an extended period of time.
