Every craftsman knows the key to success on the job is having the right tools – and no toolbox is complete without a roll or two of duct tape. Its versatility and strength make this silver tape a mainstay, entrusted to protect, hold, seal and repair a variety of items. While some may argue there’s little way to improve upon this handy fix-all, Shurtape®, a leading manufacturer of pressure-sensitive tapes, has continued to innovate its product line since it began manufacturing duct tape in 1972 – and is now expanding its co-extruded duct tape offering with the ShurGRIP® line, which features a new adhesive for aggressive stick and dependable performance.
Available in three grades, ShurGRIP duct tapes deliver the reliability and durability demanded of “classic” duct tapes, but are enhanced with an aggressive, stickier adhesive that provides superior holding power across a variety of applications, surfaces and weather conditions.
- PC 589: A 7 mil duct tape designed for light-duty applications
- PC 593: An 8 mil duct tape for medium-duty applications
- PC 599: A 9 mil duct tape for heavy-duty applications
ShurGRIP duct tapes are made using Shurtape’s Polybonded CO-EX Technology®, a co-extrusion process by which polyethylene, cloth and adhesive are melded in a single, high-temperature step. This results in a seamless construction that creates added strength and prevents delamination, a stress failure seen in laminated materials that causes tape layers to separate and their bond to weaken.
Suited for indoor and outdoor use, these new duct tapes are conformable, durable to withstand wear and tear, and are both waterproof and weather-resistant. They unwind easily, are hand-tearable and will not twist or curl during application.
